I once claimed for a phone on my contents insurance when my daughter at the time was 18 months old and she put it in the washing up bowl. Best thing to do is to get a quote from the phone shop for a new one and submit it to your insurers. You may not get the money for it but they will supply you with a replica if you are covered under your contents insurance.

Good Luck.

I once spent all afternoon in the kids paddling pool without knowing that my mobile was in my shorts pocket.

Left it for a week turned it back on and it has worked fine ever since. Try leaving it a bit longer am sure the screen will dry eventually.
Should have been put in food and drink I think......

Actually, I had a similar thing happen to me once. I just opened the back, took the battery out, and let it dry on a radiator. Worked fine.
a bottle of water in my handbag leaked all over my phone the other week - 48 hours on the radiator sorted it out although the display is a little paler than before. Not all contents insurance covers mobile phones - mine specifically excludes them and I got a separate policy - so check what it says. However if you just want a basic phone you can buy them for about 30 which is less than what your premiums would go up by after a claim. If you want a super snazzy phone you'll have to weigh up the cost of one new against the excess payment and increased premiums on your contents insurance.
