How can I delete a protected photo from this camera, I've lost the instruction book. Menu only says "protect". Thank you

My wife has a vivitar 5385,and I imagine the procedure will be similar. press playback button,this will show the last shot taken.Use the left/right arrows to get to the shot you want.Use the up/down arrows to go to lock/unlock setting.select unlock,press OK
