I bought a CD recorder for 200 which lets me record vinyl, tape, other CDs, and any other analogue source you care to plug in, directly onto CD.

erm 200 ? thats a bit of a rip off do you have a pc ? a DVD recorder (they probably don't even make cd only recorders anymore) costs as little as 25 you use the pcs sound card input and record in a sound recording program (nero burning rom comes with a fairly good one or use free audacity) you can then edit you stuff I split up LP "sides" into tracks and fine cut start and finish to get more time and get rid of the crackle then burn it to CD its not too complex with that exspensive all in one thing you probably have limited if no control at all

Why all that faff Thunderchild when all I have to do is switch on and press a button?

Oh, and it has full control, e.g. pause, level adjustment, auto fade, synchro start...

Each to their own, I suppose. I could afford it, and it works for me.
