Hi, A couple of times my telephone has rung, then when I dial 1471 to see who's called, I get a message saying you were called today at so so, telephone number 00000000 whats all that about? anyone else had this problem?. THanks

i've had a similar thing but saying 'the caller witheld their number', so maybe its just that they dialled 141 first? or its a sales call where they're all witheld!!

if it was important they would have called you again, so perhaps just assume it was rubbish ;)
It means that the caller has doctored their phone to send 00000000 rather than its real number
This is to enable the caller (usually a sales company) to get through to telephones where the householder subscribes to the service where they do not receive calls from numbers withheld. Of course, they think we're all very stupid.........they don't realise that if they all do this, we'll all eventually buy caller display phones and ignore their calls anyway.
