Can you trace a mobile phone signal

and where it came from if it was made 2 weeks ago? My boss wants t find out if my partner was lying when he phoned in sick and has said he is going to trace the signal. Thanks in advance.

His boss is out to get him. He mentioned to someone else in a job interview "we have a few militants working here.....but we're sorting them out and getting rid of them". He's worked there for 17 years.

Is he lying? Of course not!

Try Googling your question, it seems that you can pay to track mobiles, but 2 weeks ago, unlikely!
Besides, who hasn't thrown a sickie - not that your partner did of course......!

Don't worry he doesn't stand a cat in hells chance of tracing the signal, your mobile does give information each time a call is made and it can be retrieved by the mobile company, however, your partners boss will never get it.

It basically tells what mast the phone used to make the call. It can give the general area but not a precise location.

It will generally only be released to the the police or other authorised government body but not without very good reason and whole lot of paperwork!!.

His boss knew as it was a poor reception. He also visited his house twice under the guise of being concerned for his welfare.
