I've snapped my key in lock for my garage door, the cylinder looks like the type you get on the average UK UPVC door, any easy way to fish the key out (which is quite deep in the barrel) or should I drill it out?

I've never done it before so not sure if its difficult.

Have you tried using a very strong magnet or something like a dentist pick ?
If you can get into the garage you will probably find you can dismantle the lock from the inside and remove the cylinder.

Buy a new cylinder with keys.

If not, I would be inclined to call out a locksmith before attempting to drill it out myself.

Forgot to mention it had snapped in the locked position and I couldn't get into it, however, I eventually managed to get the lock to turn with the half of the key I did have left.

Lock now replaced and problem solved.

Thanks for the suggestions.
