My diesel vectra has an intermittent fault where, when I am driving along, the immobiliser warning light comes on, the engine gets really sluggish for a while, then the light goes off and everything is fine. Any ideas?

no need to be rude. If i had a problem with my car i would take it straight to the garage not ask people on the internet.
I'm no mechanic, but it sounds like your immobiliser is coming on when you are driving along. It'll just be some electrical fault, stopping the immobiliser switching off properly. The immobiliser and alarm once just started to go off intermitently while i was driving my car. Nothing you can do but take it to a garage, get them to reset it.
hi rather than taking it to a garage if you are a member of aa or rac call them out they will put it on there diagnostic equipment and tell you straight away what the problem is. better still they may even fix it for you. good luck.
I had the same problem, it turned out to be the timing belt censors. They were occasionally getting confused and giving your engine managemnet system the wrong information, you will need to get them replaced, costs around 200.00
