Central heating arggggggggg

I`ve got my heating set on constant (max temp on the boiler) and I control the rad temp with the thermostatic valves on them but the problem is the boiler seems to be kicking in every 3 minutes or so. I`ve turned the rads of completely in some of the more colder rooms that arn`t in use to see this helps but to no avail.
Any ideas????

I think the boiler will kick in every few minutes if you have the boiler stat at max. Possibly your pump is set too high (especially if you have some radiators turned off) and it is pushing the water through too fast. Pumps usually have three or four settings (coin or screwdriver adjustable) - try backing it off a bit. Isn't your hot water too hot with the boiler stat at max? Hope this helps. Cheers, Andy

Cheers Andy for your reply,i`ll give it a go turning the pump down. The water temp is on a different switch on the boiler and even that set to max but its definately not boiling hot when water comes out of the tap

The pump will have nothing to do with the boiler kicking in and it has been set by the installer for optimun efficiency so i would leave it alone if i were you.
Your problem is you have no interlock fitted this can only be achieved by fitting a room stat in conjunction a programmer & TRVs.
Part L of the building regs state that boiler interlock must be achieved to stop boiler cycling.

You need to install a programable room stat to stop all the wasted energy from a cycling boiler and save you a shedload of money in inflated gas bills at the same time :o)
