football clubs (and i assume all sporting venues) have to pay for police prescence at a event are there any other organisations/companies/institutions that have to pay the police for their services in any way?
Anyone can pay for the police to work on private property, which is not their normal duty. I do not know the current hourly rate, but is is much more than the officers themselves get. This is why football clubs pay for any officers on their property, but taxpayers pay for policing football-related problems in the town. Some football clubs started to reduce the numbers of police and to use private security companies, with sometimes interesting results. You get what you pay for.
