Sky +

I am looking to up grade my normal sky to sky +, Sky want �250.00 I cant afford that can anyone give me any informaion on what i would need to do to do this myself, I can purchase a + box from ebay for around �80.00 - �100.00, I know that i would need a quad LNB would this fit to my original mini dish, and would the same coaxel ariel be ok, does that need up grading, If anyone could tell me exactly what i need i know i could do it,

I had mine changed to sky+ and as far as i know you keep your original dish but they change the lnb and you have 2 cables running to your new box. and you would need to ring sky to get a new card and subscribe to the sky+ features. but its well worth it. but they normally have offers on so ring them to see. i only paid �100 for my sky+ box from sky.

Last week Sky phoned me to try to get me back as I had cancelled my subscription.
This was the third time they had called over a period of 4/5 weeks.
This was third time lucky as they gave me their best offer, a FREE SKYPLUS BOX with 160Gb hard drive, albeit reconditioned but with a guarantee and best of all for NOTHING.
Also on offer was sky's full package at �10.00/month for 3 months. I generally take an offer but always cancel one month before the end, go onto the freeview channels after the final month and wait for the call from the Sky REINSTATEMENTS DEPARTMENT.
As far as I am aware you can put a quad LNB onto your original dish but you will have to run another good quality, ie SAT 100, coaxial cable as a skyplus box requires two feeds from the LNB.

its amazing what you can get from sky if you threaten to terminate your subscription. try it you never know.

Im going to bight the bullet and cancel it at the end of the month, I would cancel now but upgraded on the 27th june to movies as my daughter and i dont like football, After the month i will cancel, I have had sky for years and never been offered anything,
