Does anyone know if having a mini fridge in your bedroom makes a noise at night? As in something even equal to clock ticking. I want one desperately, however I will demolish it if it makes a sound at night!

All the ones I've seen hum quite loudly, certainly in a quiet room at night it would seem loud.
We had one in the office last summer and the humming annoyed me (I was sitting next to it) so agree that it would probably seem quite loud at night in a silent room.

We stayed in a b&b recently with one in the bedroom, it was so noisey we had to turn it off!

Good idea in theory, but in practice seems to make too much noise! I like quiet when I'm sleeping, can't even stand the clock-had to change them to none ticking ones!

Thank you! for saving me money.
I wanted one, but like Polotoo need silence to sleep.
Yep, i have one too. Unbelievably noisy!

There are two types of mini fridge available on the market, one type has a motor just like a ''normal'' fridge and these are noisy but the other type is a absorption/thermal system which makes no noise at all expect for a quite click when the thermostat turns on and off, some models are now available with electronic control which make no noise at all.

Google for ''mini bar fridge'' and look for absorption type.

i've had one in my dorm room all year, u get used to it and its fine.
