The sound on my lap top has stopped working. I am not sure if I am have damaged something when I have put it down, I am wondering where to get it fixed. I know PC world is expensive but it is the only place I know. Does anybody have any suggestions - is it worth sending away? I live in Newcastle.

Thanks

There are many Pc and laptop repairers around. Our laptop was purchased through John Lewis with extended warranty. When it needed repair it was sent to a local repairer in Kent.

Just Google 'laptop repair newcastle', there are plenty to choose from.

steff before u start paying for repairs .it could be something simple u can fix yourself. ie. check all cables, re install sound card drivers from a disk or even try a system restore point. If you know anyone with a little computer knowledge i`m sure they can sort it for u.
Apologies if you are more computer literate than some of the staff where I work, but also check that the volume has not been turned down or muted, either physically or by using the volume control - normally a speaker icon in the bottom-right hand corner. If you cannot see the icon, you may need to click the "fly out" arrow. Double-click and check all settings are OK.
