Now, I'm very open minded about such matters but I am serious unconvinced about the type of shows that Derek Acorah appears in, and mediums like him. Why do they film the programmes in the dark? I think it's just for effect and to make it seem believeable or scary. Also, when he's supposedly channelling a spirit, it's very unconvincing to me - I've seen this done in real life and Derek Acorah is....well....basically crap at it. I just wish they didn't try and hype up the subject of ghosts and hauntings - it just makes people believe a lot less and call believers like me, fools.

I can understand why you think Derek Acorah is crap at pretending to be a medium, he used to be a security man, so he needs to do more practising at his acting - don`t you think ??
Now John Edwards, he is a whole different type of medium, gorgeous too.
They are all con men, playing on the weak of mind and insecure, this guy is just not as accomplished as the others.

I know what you mean Sozzie - he just comes across as if he's play acting and I actually feel embarrassed to be watching him on screen. I have however, given up watching anything that he's in. lol
I wouldnt **** on derek Acorah if he was on fire. Reminds me of Clinton baptiste from phonix nights.
I think that unless you`ve had personal experience of mediumship, seeing or feeling a presence you can`t say that it`s crap. I know that`s your opinion & you`re entitled to it, but very often if something is not understood it`s "crap".

Thanks for your response Beejaybee and I do appreciate your honesty. However, I do speak from vast experience of witnessing mediumship firsthand, when I say that Derek Acorah is less than convincing when he appears on the television programmes. I have experienced many very good mediums and some not so good and I can always tell the difference. Derek just comes across as being quite insincere and that it's all just for show. As I said in my original posting, I feel that it's a shame because it makes people believe that all other genuine mediums are the same. To many people who haven't got the time or inclination to experience it for themselves they are led to believe that this is the only way that mediumship is practised. I can quite categorically say that it isn't.
My apologise katmakenian if I offended you with my comments.
