will a permanent marker work on a mug?

HELP!! i've got to decorate a mug for the morning and my ceramic paints have dried up. Will a permanent marker work if i bake it in the oven?

unlikely.


it will last temporarily but will come off when washed.


gouache vinylique would last but its hard to find and acrylic will peel eventually


how about glass paint?


or nail varnish will definitely last. wipe surface with nail varnish remover first to remove grease.


you could try adding warm water to the paints?? you never know...

You can dry transfer your design directly onto the mug. It's like tee shirt printing but with mugs. You can do it yourself but it's a real work up if you don't have the correct equipment. Alternatively you can get them made up from tee sirt printers or some high street photoprocessors. I suppose it depends on your time frame and budget!
