We choose a 100Hz set because it is flicker free. The 50Hz ones definately have a noticable flicker especially when you look at the screen from the corner of your eye.

If you're talking about the refresh rate, go for 100Hz if you can. It just means that the picture gets updated faster, so it'll be smoother and easier to watch (hopefully).

also if you are into gaming then you can run consoles at 60hz
