I am not a follower of fashion, I wear what is comfy and is available in my very large size.

But I sometimes looking at the dresses from events. I have just looked at these:

I wouldn't be seen dead in any of them. When you look at the fashions in magazines they all look ridiculous and the models all look miserable.
some of them stunning.....Lily Rose Depp in particular....but others....I mean what were they thinking?
Makes me wonder if the dress designers ( Chanel etc ) pay celebs to wear their creations.
A few are fabulous, some are most definitely not.

Some of the dresses are beautiful.

Some of others are hideous, I saw Lily Rose Depp and she was stunning.

The Olsen twins don't look healthy.
one or two did seem to have got dressed in the dark and put on the Halloween costumes by mistake. But most of them are pretty nice.
Young body size 8, can wear anything, and no underwear required :-)
I quite like the Olsen’s boho chick look but not the ghoul chic makeup
I think one can get caught up thinking that clothes should look like clothes, and clothes to show off should be beautiful. But much of this is fantasy art, that simply happens to be worn. And we all know how weird some artists' definition of art can be. Tends to boil down to, "I'm the artist not you, this is what I've produced, so by definition it's bound to be art (and great art at that, or it's you being a Philistine)."
I like a few of them.

I only own 2 dresses and they're both black.
The only dresses I own now are my wedding dress and a crimson needlecord casual evening pinafore dress. Neither of them fit me now, both are more than 40 years old but they were made for me to my design by my mother.
Some of those dresses are passable. Alexa Chung always looks great, no matter what she wears.
I only got halfway through looking at them all. I agree the Olsen twins don't look well.
most of the women in the link would look stunning in a black binliner
Those designers should be ashamed of themselves. They have clearly got together and decided to make fools of the women. The theme of the occasion seems to be "Clowns". All the dresses are far too long, and most of them don't even fit properly.
Not that I'm jealous; I've got better legs than all of them.
Some very pretty dresses...but many appallingly ugly ones. A Ralph Lauren dress that was just 2 strips across the boobs...I thought he did class?
I agree about the Olsen twins...younger than my daughter, but look like old crones.
I'm not even sure what this event was for. It seems to be an excuse for famous actresses to dress up in silly outfits to give publicity to the designers.
//This year's theme, for both the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Costume Institute exhibition and 2017 Met Gala, is Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons.//

Any wiser?

Me neither.
Comme des garçons is a French fashion house...and I assume the other is a designer.
Too lazy to Google...
Ah ta, me too.
I can't be bothered to google it either. I know of Comme des Garçon, but what a load of nonsense.
