you can download irfanview at www.download.com  it makes pictures smaller
If you use Windows XP, right click any picture. Click "send to" and click "mail recipient". This will put the picture into a new mail for you to send. I do it on a 2.5 MB picture and it sizes it automatically to about 50kb.For multiple pictures, swipe the ones you want, then right click again as before.

Irfanview is the easiest and it's not a massive download. Here is the Home site:

Thanks cetti but when I go into the website, I don't know what to do next !!

It does look confusing I agree but it will be worth it I promise. Step by step - here we go:

  1. On the left of the page you will see Download - select it.
  2. Now at the very top are your Download options - Click on the link at the very top that says 'Tucows' . You can't miss this as there are 4 pictures of cows next to it.
  3. At the top of the next page you will see a line of OS. Click on yours eg. 98, ME or XP.
  4. You will then be taken to a list of countries. Click on UK, then the place nearest to you. I live in Dorset, so I had a choice of Southampton or the Ise of Wight. Then Download.
  5. After you will need the Plugins. Download these. Select all for ease, but take the tick out of the Ebay option.

Sounds a lot but it's very quick and once it's installed - it's a dream.....honest. Get back to me if you get stuck, although I'm sure you will be fine.

cetti thank you so much, but when I get to download in my area, it says it doesn't know the publisher and I have tried two areas, so am a bit wary. Also robber1 I usually do this but it doesn't make the picture smaller, it always says 862.23kb.  I open up my email first and then 'attach', find my picture, then 'send to / mail recipient', then attach it to the original email - what am I doing wrong?  Help again please!

You're right to be cautious, but If you are downloading a well used and highly respected program (like IrfanView) then there is no problem. They have to put up these frighteners by law.
