I have a canteen of silver plated cutlery in a green cloth lined box, which got a bit damp years ago, and I cannot get rid of the musty smell on the cutlery when I take it out to use it. What can I treat the box with to prevent the musty smell?

Don't worry about it - the Butler will sort it out...
Try cleaning it all by putting the cutlery in a glass dish lined with foil. Add white vinegar and bicarbonate of soda. Leave for half an hour and then polish with a soft cloth.

cat litter is apparently an effective way of removing musty smells from boxes etc !!
Put the cutlery in the dishwasher and don't store it in the box!

Hi CJ - apparently a small container of charcoal or baking soda will do the trick (take out the cutlery first)
