My guess is that it relates to not seeing the adverts. They are uncontrolled code from the website's point of view. I'm uncertain that would be the cause though.
Yes - it happens to me quite frequently.
As irishmaid says what is this all about - TTT says it is easily fixed but what is the secret ?
Ed, if you are following this can you clear it up.
Adblocker.

ok...I'll be leaving it there then...sigh........
Question Author
oh Thank you ummmmm. At long last. So how do you fix it? If I have to use another browser how do I do that and will it cost me anything?
Irishmaid, when it happens if you close the tab and wait a few minutes before re-opening it it is usually ok.
Question Author
Aye thank you danny but it happens usually half way through me typing something and it won't even let me copy what I've written and close the page so I lose all me words. I'm looking up that thing Ummmm wrote but it doesn't work with IE so I'm thinking about changing to Chrome but that's a lot of bother just for posting post on here I think.
It takes minutes to download Chrome or FF.
download firefox..go to addons...adblock or adguard are there ..ps sorry ED
Having an ad blocker does not stop the problem.
Question Author
ok thanks I'm going out now but will try later. Sorry if I've touched on a touchy subject but it is driving me mad.
Question Author
oh Danny before I go thanks for asking the Ed about my problem you are a star so you are. I've been going out for the last five minutes so will catch yous all later.
MY opinion for what its worth no moderator on answerbank should be using anything that stops them from getting adverts like adblock, its the ads that keep answerbank going,am i right or am i right?
You are right
Install Firefox with a suitable 'Add-on' and your problems should come to an end. It doesn't cost anything to have another Browser which is better than IE

Click the following link and try a few other Browsers. You can have as many as you wish. I avoid Chrome because it tracks one's every move on the Internet and overloads one with Targeted Adverts.

Hans.

Not sure what difference it makes whether the person using an adblocker is a moderator or not - all of us are ABers.
You probably need to try installing the Oirish version. ;)

Where are you from Irishmaid?
using an employer's resource, i'm stuck with IE, and it's company policy not to have too many plug-ins - including adblocker. I don't have admin rights so i can't add it myself. i'm stuck with it. the appallingly badly written ads with their infinitely long scripts mean I have great difficulty using this site.

Ads are clearly necessary to fund the site, but really, what's the point if they end up destroying the resource they're meant to support?
i have adblockers and i'm not crashing, to be sure

(using chrome)
