Hi everyone. My mum is the manager of a sheltered scheme for older people and the residents are trying to raise funds for their garden. The whole story is at this link below:
https://www.gofundme.com/hjzy8b6k

All of the gardening is done using donations. If anybody could spare just a few pennies, pounds or whatever you want to give, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

didnt realise you couldn't do a post more than once. Won't do it again. Consider my hand slapped!

As I said, it won't happen again
Are you a moderator Baldric?
I live in a sheltered housing complex and we pay a monthly service charge.

Sharon, I'm allowed to have an opinion I believe.

Sorry,
I meant to add,
Or would you deny me that?
Question Author
Yes there are gardeners that do the mowing and general tidying which is part of the service charge. They don't have the time to plant up the whole place. The residents put their heart and soul into the gardens. I'm now wishing I had never posted this on here. You now can't put anything on the Internet without getting some sort of backlash.
I wouldn't worry hollie - it's a polite request and everyone can make their mind up to help or not.

In the same way we have done in the past with sponsorship requests and to a point charity quizzes.

If the editorial team think the post is wrong they'll remove it.
Hi hollie - I am not into gardening but have a grey slab of garden at the back of house which has 5 solarpowered owls and bowls etc. They look good - but would look even better for the summer if I could maybe could buy another 5 or 6 -- they cost £5.99 each - so may be buy one a week - they are lovely in the garden. Wouldn't buy greenland as I don't have greenfingered. lights are truly lovely

Agree 100% with Mamya, if the AB Team don't like my position they will remove my comments.
One is nearer God's heart in a garden than anywhere else on earth.
I'll make a small contribution in the morning, haven't got the credit cards to hand.

I was just putting it out there. I know it's a long shot but just thought I'd try.
Hollie.....when I ran a little gardening club for the Learning for Living kids at school I approached some local garden centres.....they were fantastic.
They donated tubs, plants and even trees......and if you can give them a little publicity.....say the oldest resident photographed planting a tree or something along those lines you could end up with a super garden.......Gx
