From the way his numerous statements were worded, it was evident all along that he was hiding something. However, from what he says, he did the honourable thing and cashed in his investments before becoming PM and paid the going rate of UK taxes on them. And pigs fly. And the moon is made of cheese. And,.............whatever. I believe h will 'bat it out' until at least after he referendum - the man has thicker skin than a rhino.
Still not happy with the keyboard on this Acer!!
Bit off topic, there, ken.;)
On topic, Cameron has always been a bit of a truth-dodger, imo.
Tax avoidance doesn’t equate to tax evasion. Has he done something illegal? If he hasn't his financial affairs are his own concern.
How can he be blamed for something his late father set up?
I dont think the problem is doing anything illegal more the lies surrounding it.

If he had come out up front and put it on the table then there would have been no issue, but he didnt therefore his position is now compromised as we dont know whether or not he is telling the whole truth now.

Given the man is not averse to telling porkies I suspect there is still more to come. 30K is nothing and he is stinking rich.
Ummm, HE bought the shares in 1997.

Plus its a bit rich preaching to others about tax avoidance if his fortune is made of the back of it. Stinking hypocrisy I'm afraid.

He needs to do the honorable thing and go. But he wont.
youngmafbog, he didn't 'put it on the table' immediately but he hasn't lied. This is turning into a bit of a witch hunt. Still, any excuse.
OK, he dodged the questions. But why. It would appear he has not actually done anything wrong at all.

So suspicion be there that there is more.

It's not a witch hunt this time, the man should have know to put it out clearly on the table in 2010. He failed to do so meaning his credibility ius now shot (as if is was not before)
He lied by omission. An overly used trick of politicians.
youngmafbog, he's a politician - and a human being - and we're all fallible. And now he stands accused of doing nothing illegal - and you want him to resign for that? Frankly, I don't believe his financial affairs, which as far as I can tell, have been conducted perfectly legitimately, are anyone else's business.
It took Dave 5 days to finally give us the truth....speaks volumes !

We are all in this together ?
So how come Jimmy Carr's personal finance was David Cameron's business, naomi?

He was in the glass house throwing boulders ... not a wise thing to do.
-Talbot- //So how come Jimmy Carr's personal finance was David Cameron's business, naomi? //

It wasn't - but as far as I can tell David Cameron is not, personally, in Jimmy Carr's position so I'm at a loss to understand what all the fuss is about.
Here's what George Osborne tweeted in October 2014:-

[i]Tax evasion is not just illegal it’s immoral.People evading tax should be treated same as common thieves. This agreement helps us tackle them[i]

Wonder if he has any comments now?
Apparently he did pay tax on it.
bibblebub, this isn't tax evasion.
It is a simple case of do as I say not as I have done.

Shouldn't he have declared this Panama connection on becoming a MP?

Before we all get carried away with self-righteous indignation...where do you think your pension funds are invested to maximise your benefits?
