The very large Christmas crossword, by Dean Mayer

12d Virgin filling bank form (2,4,2,6,4)

Answer is "as pure as the driven snow" (i.e. virgin)

But how does the wordplay work?
... "the driven snow" is pushed up to form a bank
... "as pure as" must then mean "filling"?

CLARIFICATION : The Very Large Christmas Crossword, By Dean Mayer is The Sunday Times cryptic of 22/12
Just doing it myself. I put the same as you. Like a lot of Dean Meyer's we probably won't be much wiser after its 'explained'.
