I have a standard Honeywell dial to adjust the temperature for the central heating, but where is the temperature sensor, how does the boiler know when the house is up to the set temperature?

Do you notice the way the thermostat clicks on/off when you adjust the dial boxy?

The actual sensor is built into the unit and the unit is connected to the boiler to switch it on or off as appropriate.
