after having a water softened installed? Still using same dishwasher that has been used with hard water so do I need to still add salt for awhile or forever or never?

Yes. Your glasses won't come out clean if you don't.

My dishwasher repair man (I don't actually own him) said to never let it run out of salt, regardless.
