HP wirelss printer

I have a new HP laptop and wireless printer but I had better tell you I am 74 years young and not great with computers.
If I write a letter on Microsft Word and then press print it doesnt happen, what am I doing wrong please ? it will scan & print okay.
I also tried with photos I got them on the screen but no print.

HAve you set up the network between the laptop & printer via your router?

putnut is right we have just had a new hp wireless printer and you need to network it via your router. Goodluck

have you gone into control panel, printers and checked that your printer is there, properly installed and has a green tick next to it showing it as the default printer?
