Get a job.
Claim benefits.
Prostitution.
Or a combination of some or all of the above.
surely your relation can sign on for benefits, if all else fails?
Could your one of your relations perhaps get a job? That is what most people do to get income.

Thanks for your suggestions. I didnt know you could get benefits having not gone throuigh the process myself. I also thought you couldn't get a job as he has had to r emove all the lettering from the side of his van.
No a normal apply to another employer type job...working for someone else...
For you read one of your relations. There are two types of Job Seekers Allowance (JSA), Contribution and Income based,
If you do not have the correct NI contributions for Contribution JSA you should get Income based JSA, providing you do not have a great deal of capital or work over 16 hours per week, the income of your partner will be taken into account and you must be avilable for work, this should be your starting point and will be your passport to other benefits.

Thanks particularly to Tonywiltshire for his detailed reply . The person in question is a very hard worker who was a subcontractor to Connaught council housing firm who went under. They wouldn't pay for work done, or materials already purchased and owed him thousands. I was trying to help and didn't need sarcastic replies from people like bednobs.
how is that sarcastic?
Need money = get a job,

bednobs. to tell someone who has built their business from scratch working all the hours god sends,( and who loses it from someone elses bankruptcy ) that he should get a job is sarcasm in my book. Don't bother to reply to any future advise I request. End of!
