Our microwave died so my husband has bought an all-in-one microwave, grill and convection oven. Is it as difficult to use as it looks? By grill, does it mean a proper grill (as in you can make cheese on toast in it). Any tips? Thanks

''Is it as difficult to use as it looks?''

Is there an instruction manual?
Seems to be the way it works, but for the grill function, you would have to put the food to be grilled on a high rack. We normally use the combi/oven functions, (which work really well!!!), & it fulfills all functions more than adequately (IMO!).
Aren't they really small?
We've done a 10lb turkey in it last year, it's just better for a couple/single person than a large family.
I think you should ask santa for a new cooker

Hi all, there is an instruction manual (the first 73 pages are 'instructions') but I am lazy (also wanted to know what people really thought of them in practice). It is quite big really, and the recipes are for 4 - 6 people and it says you can double the recipe sizes.
I would not be without mine. I often use the convection side to cook or bake in, I figure why heat a huge electric oven, when I have that. Also, pies come out a lot more evenly baked.
It's great for defrosting as well!!!!

Best do a bit of experimenting then, can't just use it to warm stuff up as I have now found out the price of the bloody thing!
Making porridge and sauces in a plastic jug in micro, a lot easier to wash a jug than clean a saucepan/
Start off by just using the microwave bit, when you've got the hang of it try the grill, then combination. We've got two and they are excellent, for grilling toast or bottling fruit and everything inbetween.
R.T.F.M it !
Yep - they're the dog's bits :-)

Spent a whole winter with nothing but one of these plus a kettle and a toaster whilst I was building house extension & installing new kitchen - managed perfectly well.
we use it for most of our daily cooking, the convection part is much better - IMO - than a big cooker oven. We do use lots of equipment though so a cooker is wasted on us - the veg is in the steamer, etc.
