I had to hoover up a jar of coffee granules a couple of weeks ago and even though I have emptied it, my Dyson reeks of coffee (it is overwhelming). How can I make it smell better? Thanks.

I don't have an answer for you but my hoover sticks of dogs hair, I'd rather yours.
Take off all the bits that come off (including filter and canister) wash in warm soapy water and let air-dry in a warm place. Put back together.
Trouble with coffee granules is that they absorb moisture and become sticky- so they do need to be washed out.
Wash the foam filters in warm water

Can I use it without the foam filter in place - they take ages to dry and I use it most days?
Not a good idea - will let all sorts of crap into the works - I always dry mine on a warm radiator overnight

Thanks all - might have a go at it tomorrow.

No - not without filter. When washed, squeeze as much water out as poss then press it in an old towel - plenty more water will come out and it will dry much quicker.
