I wonder how many of us have wrist bands? The ones tied on, that you keep on all the time.

I think now, about as many people have them as don't have them.

I wear four ... a thin leather thong, a plaited leather one, a tan leather with black and white lacing, and a multi coloured one.

So who does, and who doesn't?

I do
I have 4 I wear regularly
I also have an original Pandora which when I bought mine, was called a slave bangle
I've only got my plastic Help for Heroes one at the moment, but there is a nice leather HtH band I have my eye on https://www.shop.help...Leather-Bracelet.html

Is there significance attached to the meaning of some of these wristbands, as there was with the jelly bands?
I don't. I can't recall anyone who does tbh..
actually ummm, nor do I, not regularly - it seems to be a beach surfer sort of style to me.
JJ - do you take them off when you shower or bath?
What are people actually trying to say with these plastic bands, is it a demonstration that you have donated to a particular charity, like with a poppy?
Question Author
No, Boxy ... they're tied on. They never come off.
Question Author
I don't have a plastic one.
I only buy ones that do come off, or that I can slip off for a shower because they do smell
Although surfer types wear them I can assure you I am not, nor ever have been, a surfer type lol
Question Author
You may be right, Boxy.

It's saying ... underneath our middle aged, middle class, day to day clothing, there's a bit of a beach bum still trying to get out.
Question Author
That sounds nice, Kittens.
So they are purely for ornament then? But if they are leather, don't they become dried out and hard if you bathe/shower in them? I'm not being critical, just curious :-)
Question Author
I think the warmth from your body (or moisture??!!) keeps them soft.

They seem to get more supple, really.
Good, you have my permission to keep wearing them then. ha-ha.
I don't wear any and don't know anyone that does.

I like that, JJ - I'll go get one!
Fabulous...your date turns up with leather wrist bands........"Annie Oakley?"
My friends still got her Glastonbury one on
It seems to be the thing with these crazy youngsters to have them from as many festivals as they can get to
The only one I wear is a Help For Heroes band, but it is rubber not leather.
Question Author
That was jolly, sqad.

Well, mine are from Spain this summer, Portugal last year, one from Switzerland, and one from home. There's a guy who has a teeny little shop, about 6ft wide, opposite The Mesmerist pub, and he makes them, so I got one from him.

So none from festivals.
