If you click on the third option down (product information I think) it seems to tell you how to do this check.

Have fun
Have you installed the Epson software that came with the printer?

I have an Epson and a printer icon on the bottom right Windows task bar. If I right click on the icon I get a menu and I can select one of the options and check it from there
This works with most printers. (My instructions are for XP but 7 should be fairly similar):
Go to Start > Settings > Printers & Faxes.
Right-click on the icon for your printer.
Select 'Properties'.
What you'll see there will depend upon your printer software but you're probably looking for a 'Maintenance' tab. Once you've found the correct tab you'll be looking for something like 'Status Monitor'.

thanx guys for your input, however I still cannot find the solution to my problem.
Pls understand that my printer works perfectly, what I need to know is the cartridge ink levels so that they do not run out.
Wolf63. the link is great which gives me PDF files of printer, quote,'Checking ink supply do one of the following : dble click icon on task bar' ( I do not have icon on task bar) & there is no alternative suggested.
VHG. No icon bttm right task bar.
Chris.followed every move you suggested, when I get to device status it says 'This device is working properly', & nowhere else to click on.Ron.
When it is printing a document there might be a 'Check ink levels' option to click on.
Have you got the full driver and software package installed, or just the basic driver?

If you've not got the full package then you won't have the epson status monitor.
