Reducing noise through a party wall

Is there any way of reducing the noise coming through the party wall of our semi?

No problems with TV/voices but our neighbours have added cupboards to the wall and the noise of doors closing is disturbing.

Any advice would be appreciated.

they suggest talking to the neighbours as well...maybe they coulf put soft closers on the doors?

This is a huge subject Peri ........... I went into it at great length once, for a drum studio. Roughly ......... voices, TV etc would be "Airborne" sound .......... what you have, I guess, is "Impact" sound.
There are hundreds of ways of dealing with it. One of the best would be to build another wall along your existing wall with dense concrete blocks ............. with a 50mm cavity between them ........... and no contact.
Probably NOT what you want to hear!
Seriously ............ do some heavy Googling ............. read up. There's loads on there. It would take far too long to go through all the options here I'm afraid.

Only last week a customer was complaining of the same thing.
She had got some plasterers to dot and dab some thick plasterboards over the existing wall.
The problem was even worse now with the small cavity behind the boards acting as a sound box.
She now wants me to remove the thick plasterboards..!

I have the same problem with a cupboard (with a door) in my bedroom -it was once a through door to my neighbour.Try telling her I can hear everything from her lounge and also get the fag smoke through as well.Ive thought of rolls of insulation even although I would lose a handy deep cupboard.Would that work?

Just an idea...
I don't know how well you get on with your neighbours, but if I had the same problem I would have a chat with them and mention that I can hear it every time they close the cupboard doors. I would then ask if they would mind fitting those little clear pads that absorb the sound. I'd even provide them for the neighbours. They cost about £4 for a pack of about 100 in Wilkos.
I fitted wardrobes in our bedroom and those doors made a clunking sound when they closed so I fitted them to reduce the noise both for ourselves and the next door nighbours.

You could even provide some Blum Door Closers which stop the doors slamming. They fit them on kitchen cupboards and cost about £3.60 each from Wickes. I'm sure these two cheap little items would save you doing any more expensive measures.
