Has anybody had experience of sending either wine or flowers to Australia. My sister emigrated earlier this year and as the cost of postage is phenominal thought I would arrange for either flowers or wine to be delivered to her. Looking at 'gifts for Australia' and 'Interflora' I find those very over priced e.g. 20Aus $ for one red rose. As a pensioner I am on limited means and wondered if anyone had other contacts/ suppliers I could use please.

If you google 'christmas gifts in austraila' plenty of web sites will appear, such as:

http://www.gifts2thedoor.com.au/

http://giftsaustralia.com.au/

which all offer delivery services.

I know from experience that using Interflora is very expensive!
yes look for somewhere local to the recipient.
One of the things I do is find their local florists or gardening centre, this is easy over the net, then phoning them up and ordering what you want and you pay with your credit card. Whereabouts is your sister in Australia?

Thanks for these. Coccinelle, she lives in Melbourne and I do not have a credit card.

Well if you haven't got a credit card it's going to be tricky!
