Ok, very boring question I know but I love the smell of clean washing. However, the smell doesn't seem to last on the clothes and everyone else's washing seems to smell better than mine. In your opinion, which powders/gels etc produce the nicest smells?
I've got some of the Lenor sensations fabric conditioner which is brilliant. My husband has started wearing shirts from a year ago and the smell is still released. However, I find it quite sickly and don't want to use it all the time.
Thanks

I use the Bold pink pack one... Think it's jasmin and something... I like it anyway.
I like the Lenor yellow one.
Don't know.

I get these giant boxes of Bold from Costco. It seems okay.
I avoid Fabric softener. Why coat your clothes, which go next to your skin all day, with a layer of petroleum industry waste material ? If it affects clothes that much, what does it do to you ? Besides I've disliked the industry ever since it started to try to make housewives feel guilty about having a normal wash for their sensitive family to tolerate. If your laundry smells of anything other that clothes, it ain't clean. Give it another rinse cycle.
I like unscented; I too get this giant container from Costco which last a long time.

I don't like any smells in my detergent and softener, much as I can't stand those plug in things for the home. I use Morrisons liquid detergent and the softeners for baby clothes which don't have any smells.

However, in the summer when the clothes are hung outside I find softeners are totally unnecessary, except for woolly things!!
I use Persil normally, but this time I had to get Ariel, which seems ok, my whites look ok anyway, I like to use Comfort fabric softener usually get the white sensitive one but i find the blueberry and jasmine smelly one is quite nice.
Can't use any fabric softners or anything with a perfume as my OH is allergic. I do kind of miss it from time to time, but I like when my washing smells of outside. I think you nose just gets used to the smell after a while, so I guess you just have to rotate the different ones.
Washing powder, I use anything that's on offer or cheap. I'm currently on Persil, but that's only as it was on offer for a giant box, i only use a egg cup full too. I'm fussier about fabric softener though, as like you MissC I like the smell to linger, so I tend to stick to Lenor concentrate- a blue bottle.
I have cut right back on the amount of detergent I use BOO, and my washing is just as clean as it ever was.

Thanks all for answering my boring question lol. Annie, I think you're right - your nose gets used to it.
Lofty - I'm not keen on plug ins either, I've got one which I turn on upstairs just occasionally for a couple of hours.
