How do I send a parcel to china? It's not that big (size of 2 DS game boxes). Do I just go to the post office or do I need to go to a special company and do it? (I live in the UK)

Go to your local Post Office. As long as it weighs less than 2kg it shouldn't be too expensive.
Fast lane couriers may be better s you can track it.
What are you sending?
It all depends on size and weight. There is a useful leaflet from the PO about international posts and tracking options.
As has been indicated, your local post office should be able to help you. However some post office staff forget to tell people that you MUST attach a 'CN22' customs declaration form to your package. (The form is free and easy to fill in. All post offices stock them). If you don't attach the form your package is likely to be confiscated by the Chinese authorities.
