my brother bullied me to the point where he caused me to have a mental illness(social phobia). it has destroyed my life and 2 months ago after 7 years of trying to live with it i tried to commit suicide but i was found by my dad after he kicked in my door when i didnt answer him, after spending a week in intensive care i was allowed home but im in the same situation i really cannot stand the fact that this is caused by my brother who has gone unpunished, surely causing someone a mental illness isn't acceptable? i really do need help as i cannot talk with anybody and my anger is gettin out of control

physicall bullying verbal it was from when i was 13 im now nearly 21 he is 2 years older my parents agree that something should be done are unsure what can be
if he has assaulted you, perhaps you should go to the police.
If you are being physically bullied like that in the home then it is domestic violence or abuse, which does not have to be between spousal partners. As Sara suggests you should complain to the police or at least go along to see your doctor and find out if there is a domestic abuse councelling service in your area and talk to them There is no need for you to suffer this in silence expecially as your parents appear unable or unwilling to take any action. You have to look after youself now or the rest of your life will be ruined. It willbe a hard step to take, but try and pluck up your courage and seek help.
You're nearly 21 - move out! My brother used to beat me up, it got to the point that I threatened to go to the police and press charges for assault, this made my mum take action. She helped me to find a flat and helped out financially, at the time I thought she was being generous, but now I can see that she was just distracting me. If your parents can't /won't do anything then you need to take action.

Are you recieving any help/councelling following your suicide attempt?

If he's physically harming you then go to the police - just because he's family doesn't mean he should be able to get away with it.
