I am just so desperate to find a decent light vaccuum cleaner

Hi,I have never had one (I have a Miele which I love but it's a cylinder) but have heard great things about Sebo. Here is the link for you.The customer testemonials read very well too.

But the cylinder types are sooo much lighter than the uprights as all you are pushing round is the head, not the whole thing. Pick up is much better aswell.
QVC stock one - it's the oreck vacuum and you can pick it up with 1 finger , it's not cheap over £200 but they do have a 30 day return policy where you can try it for the whole month and then return it if you don't like it check it out online at www.qvc.co.uk and you can see a video demo of the machine
steer well clear of dyson machines
BISSELL do a light one for £50.

I think Asda sometimes stock Bissells product.
Just bought my Mum a Vax for christmas. It is upright and does a great job, she says her carpet came up like new. I bought mine for 55 pounds but they are only 44 pounds in Argos for the same cleaner.
I have had a Sebo for 15 years and swear by it......never had any other that could compare but I wouldn't call it light although perhaps newer models are.
