pruning roses

  I realise that this question may have been asked before but just how far back can you cut roses?  I`ve been told it`s almost impossible to kill them but don`t want to go too far.  Thanks.

Hi ianess, I know what to do but found this site.

It has loads of info on pruning roses and has good diagrams too.
