rental property has major mold

i am renting a flat with major mold problems and want to break the lease as landlord refuses to del with problem

Section 11 of the Landlord and Tenant act creates a repairing obligation in short leases. If your landlord refuses to repair the problems, issue a lawsuit against him, or even refuse to pay the rent...im sure he will stand by his obligations in no time at all!
Bad advice I'm afraid. Refusing to pay the rent will get you evicted and probably a CCJ and a bad credit reference too.

I think it needs to be determined WHY there is mold. If its poor ventilation its the tenants problem so no point quoting Landlord and Tenant Act. Need more info before we start jumping to conclusions.

To the OP, youve posted this question in at least three sections now on AB, might be better just in one relevant section?

Sorry question in 3 places not used before and didn't know what section to put in.

mold was in flat before we moved in and was apparantly treated we were not made aware flat is adaquatly ventalted by us in all rooms but have mold in all rooms had inspectors out from letting agents and advised landlord needs to add further vents or will not improve but still refusing to do anything. Contacted environental health awaiting call from them as to inspections can I break my lease ?
