Recently we have had our electrics sorted upstairs under the boiler the wires were not exactly safe and now are all safe in a box , we have always had to turn the hot water on and this heats the water and also turns the raidators on a bit of a pain in mid summer but since the electic work we have had trouble just switching the radiators on and it doesn't seem to light up or takes several tries now it doesn't come at all neither does the hot water. in the instructions in the case it shows how to turn it on manualy this method did work and does light the pilot light but it doesn't flame up ussually i would be rubbing my misery hands together after also fighting to turn the heating down on my missus but she is 6 months pregnant and need to try any options before calling out the expensive pros. cheers mark for any advice.

Sound like the thermocoupler has burnt out. Get an heating engineer to replace it. It should cost under 30.
