I keep having to replace the batteries in my wired door bell (nearly every 2 weeks. )The door bell I have has a permanent light around the push button, so I was wondering if this is draining the batteries. If this is the case how can I rectify it? I do not want to change the door bell.

I am quite sure that it is the light that is draining your batteries since these bell pushes are intended to be wired to the mains through a bell transformer. You could try taking the bulb out which should save your batteries.
We've got a doorbell with a light around the push button, but it is connected to the mains, so no problems with batteries.
