One Bedroom to Two Bedroom Flat Conversion

I would like to turn one of the rooms in my one bedroom flat into two by installing a wall down the middle with Door. I have been told that I can get a wall that can easy be removed in the future if I wish. Do you know if I need to get any permission for this or tell the council? My plan is to get a lodger

i would have thought you would definately need building control - get in touch with your local council and ask. Also, you will need to tell your mortgage provider and house insurance

And you might need permission from your freeholder.
