Can you connect a freeview box to a Satellite dish

Hi there,
does anybody know if you can connect a normal freeview box to a satellite dish, or can you only use the proper satellite decoders?

The SKY dish needs 12-18 volts from the digi box where as the freeview box needs a digital signal from a transmitter....
