Can co-axial cable be repaired?

My mother was trimming back some undergrowth this afternoon and cut through the TV ariel cable. As it can't be replaced till next week, is there some sort of running repair I can do tomorrow so we can watch TV ?

Thanks in advance.

Julie

There's two things you can do.
1. Buy an aerial male and female connector from a diy shop / hardware shop / tv shop and re-make the ends together. one of these (socket)

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=1 619&criteria=aerial%20connector&doy=11m7

and one of these (plug)

2. The botch version. Use a soldering iron and re- make the ends by soldering the centre core together, then the baided outer core you may need to strip off some of the plastic outer to be able to do this.. If this gives a picture on the tv tape the join up using electricians tape to keep the water out.

Many thanks pug100 - I think I will go down the M/F connector route with some tape to keep out moisture.
