I don't know if this is the right area but here goes -

My partner sacked a kid who was working for us for many reasons, one of which was that he was making racist comments towards him.

Since then this kid & his friends supposedly tried to blow up our business and home with a 4 day old baby inside, by staring a fire by the gas pipes which lead into the restaurant. Theres no proof it was actually this kid - just 'kids'. The fire was pretty bad and it was a close call. Luckily some other staff were on there way back from the pub and saw the fire.

Since then it has been non stop abuse fron this group of kids. They often show up at night, shouting racist comments through the door and banging on the windows or making comments about how bad the food is. The police seem to do nothing.

Is there anything we can do? With a new baby living here and the previous attempt to tortch our home with us all sleeping inside, I'm scared to the point I often can't sleep at night.

Keep a diary of all incidents. Phone the police station every time something happens and ask them to log the call if they won't attend.

Make an appointment to see the Inspector at your police station and explain everything to him.

Install cctv cameras.

Speak to your local MP.
Can you afford to set up a CCTV camera to cover the area where these incidents are happening? You would need to make sure it is out of reach of the vandals though as they would probably just trash it. Have you mentioned to the police that you believe the incidents are race related?
I hope you manage to get these scumbags to stop harrassing you,it is the last thing you need when you have a new baby in the premises!

Congratulations on the new baby by the way,I did ask last week if anyone had heard from you as the last post I saw from you was about the headache you had when labour was starting.
Do you have a community Police officer in your area ?...Is your area covered by CCTV ? - Does your area enforce ASBO's ?..

If you do report these incidents to the Police make sure you log the date and time of your calls - Put the details in your diary

Go to your Police station and ask to see a senior member of the Police staff, don't leave until you have spoken to a Police officer and voiced your concerns.
Always obtain a force number and full name of whoever you speak to.

Keep a diary of abuse and incidents.

The Police have a duty of care to members of the public, these civil servants are paid for by us.

NEVER GIVE IN !

Get in touch with your local MP if the police are refusing to act. You shouldn't have to tolerate this!
