How to remove tipp-ex

As above, OH has spilt Tipp-ex on his (black) trousers. Any ideas as how to remove? I've told him he'll have to cover it up with black marker pen!!!

Can't he type over it?

Seriously, you used to be able to buy tippex solvent, which smelt to me like propylene or similar. Perhaps paint solvent would work as long as it left the trousers intact! Don't light a match or he may be into roast chestnuts!
I think nail varnish remover may shift it. Try putting tippex on an old piece of rag first to see if it will remove it from that.

Ta CJP - tippex all gone!!
Androcles - not a typewriter, he was correcting a handwritten document. Can just imagine trying to load trousers onto carriage!!
Will look for tippex thinner if acetone (NV remover) doesn't work.
