I have ordered a new bath from The Bath Store and it has a flip plug hole which you push to open and push again to close. Has anyone got one of these and can you tell me if its really watertight?

I have one. As clever says these new fangled things are OK at first so we will see how it goes. It's fitted in a large shower bath, one that you can move around in. The only time the click clack plughole fails is if I accidentally sit on it and pop it up!

DId you order a whirlpool bath katielou? - it's lovely.
We had a new bath fitted and it came with the plug you described. However after a short period of time the nut and spring which holds it place, slackened off and vanished
somewhere in the plumbing system. As cs says keep it simple.

Alan47, was it easy to replace with a normal plug hole?
sorry katielou1 I've been away. We still use the plug, the pressure of the water keeps it in place. Its only when you take the plug out to let the water away you just stick your nail under the plug and lift away. If you want a normal plug, just measure the size of the plug hole and buy from your local DIY
