Can you wash clothing which have been patched with iron-on sticky repair tape or does hot soapy water remove all the adhesive causing the tape to come off?

we (i.e. my wife) use it on trouser turnups mostly and it needs replacing now and again but as you usually iron the garments how much trouble is it to slip some wonderweb in the turnup as you press the garment
ps what exactly do you mean patched with?
You can wash clothing that has been repaired with *wondaweb* or similar but it won't hold on for ever, especially if you wash at high temperatures. I'd never use the stuff for simple turn ups - I prefer a more permanent needle and thread solution but it is handy for reinforcing fabrics which have ripped or torn, especially near seams and on delicate fabrics. It is so cheap and comes in different colours (eg Tesco does it in white, black and grey) that it's quite easy to replace if it does come off.
