Electric shower blown - who shall I contact?

We have an electric power shower unit installed by the previous owners of the place. This morning I was taking the shower when the unit box started hissing and spitting blue flame, resulting in some burnt rubber smell and - needless to say - cold water. I managed to switch the water off, but now am really puzzled - shall I contact a plumber or an electrician?

Any ideas why this has happened and whether we'll be able to install a new power shower unit safely so it doesn't happen again?

Any response is trully appreciated. Thanks.

hi, an electrician will be required. sounds like the unit is kaput, so will need replacing. as its electric, there are earthing rules that need to be followed and qualified electricians will know the latest regulations.
