matsui msp60ss built in elecric fan oven

i have just had the above mentioned fitted, when i switch the oven on at the cooker socket switch the cooling fan automatically turns itself on and stays on untill the main switch is switched off again, can anyone tell me if this is typical of this type of oven, regards.
