I have an electrical cable that would normally supply a socket (that you would plug a plug into) and a cable coming from a spotlight. What I want to do is wire both of them up to the same dimmer switch, is that possible?

I take it you have some kind of extension lead that you normally plug your spotlight into and you wish to control the brightness of the spotlight??
